An Acail, originally an agricultural barn, was converted to a self-catering holiday cottage in 2014 and much of the work was completed by ourselves, Iain and Jeanne.
The cottage is perfectly located for exploring the Islands of Lewis and Harris and its many beautiful beaches, historical sites, and stunning scenery. There is ample local wildlife to enjoy, as well as cycling, fishing and walking. Or you may just want to relax and enjoy the peace.
The master bedroom, on the ground floor, boasts a super-king size bed, en-suite bathroom with walk in, water fall power shower and separate spa bath. There is a twin bedroom upstairs and it has an en-suite shower room.
The cottage is available to book all year round and sleeps 4. However we can sleep six as we have an additional twin room which can be booked by prior arrangement at an extra cost and if available. Please ask for details.
The living area is open plan and has seating and dining for up to six. This area has a large bay window and French doors to access a patio with picnic table. There is also an outbuilding, which houses the laundry facilities and has room for storing bikes or drying wet suits. There is off street parking for up to four cars and you can park directly outside the entrance to the front of the cottage.
An Acail is warm and cosy with central heating which can be fully controlled by you. There is also heat recovery unit with pollen filters for your comfort. All heating and WiFi is included in the price of your stay. All bed linen and towels are provided along with a small welcome pack to help you settle in on your first night. And, weather permitting, there are picnic things, cool bag and beach towels.
